Artist statement
Serendipity was inspired by fingerprint identification, one of the oldest methods of authentication used in biometrics. Biometric security has since progressed to facial and even iris authentication.
The colours chosen for Serendipity are a symphony of hues, ranging from iridescent copper to earthy browns, symbolizing the multifaceted aspects of fortune. The juxtaposition of light and dark shades creates a dynamic interplay, mirroring the ebb and flow of life's fortunes. As the viewers immerse themselves in the painting, a sense of movement emerges. The arrangement of the rice grains seems to shift and transform before their very eyes, mirroring the ever-changing nature of fortune itself. This metamorphosis invites contemplation on the fleeting nature of luck, prompting reflection on the significance of seizing the right opportunities when they arise.
Serendipity, in its most favourable form, brings forth abundance, success, and serendipitous encounters. It presents us with golden opportunities, propelling us towards our aspirations and dreams.
